(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Sunday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) argued that her motion to vacate against House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) was “coming” regardless of what he decided to do. At the same time, she avoided answering any questions relating to possible alternative plans in case he is removed.

During an appearance on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” she argued that Johnson’s time as Speaker was over. She continued by stating that he needed to do the correct thing and resign, as this would allow them to move forward in a more controlled process. She added that if he did not opt to do so then he could be vacated.

Host Maria Bartiromo had proceeded to ask whether Greene had planned to continue with her motion to vacate, which had originally been introduced last month. The motion has not yet been brought for a vote on the House floor. In response, Greene argued that regardless of what the Speaker decided to do, they had three GOP members who would be joining them for the special election that would be coming up shortly. She continued by saying that this showed that people needed to be aware that this could happen.

After the House passed a spending package in order to avoid a government shutdown, Greene had taken the first step to oust Johnson. The package had received support from both sides, but House conservatives had criticized it.

Greene had at the time stated that the motion was a “warning.” However, the tensions continued to increase as Johnson chose to bring to the House floor a stand foreign aid bill that would provide aid to Ukraine. This is despite the fact that previously he had insisted that any such bill would be accompanied by border measures.
