Democrats Planning To Replace Biden

(PartiallyPolitics.com) – In recent weeks California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) has risen across national media with many speculating about whether he is planning on joining the Democratic primary presidential race in 2024.

Newsom has recently attacked Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) over his decision to fly dozens of migrants to California. In his statements, he has referred to DeSantis as a “small, pathetic man” and has threatened Florida officials with possible charges they could face in connection to the flights. Specifically, Newsom has argued that kidnapping charges could be filed against Florida for the transportation of illegal immigrants to California.

Democratic strategist Steven Maviglio stated that while Newsom does appear to support President Biden, it is possible that he would like it if something occurred that stopped the President from being in the race. This would potentially enable Newsom to appear as an alternative to President Biden.

Maviglio also pointed out that former Gov. Jerry Brown had months ago given Newsom the advice that if he wanted to join the presidential race he should. Yet, Newsom does not appear to have taken this advice, but at the same time, it seems like he is running a type of shadow candidacy, where he is carrying the key message of the Democrats.

Many Democrats have pointed out that Newsom likely has ambitions about the White House, however many members of his party have opposed the idea that he is running a shadow campaign, despite his recent media appearances on Politico, Fox News’s “Hannity,” and NBC’s “Today” show.
