(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Two mosques in Minneapolis were set on fire by a man, Jackie Rahm Little, who is also commonly known as Joel Arthur Tueting.

The man was arrested by Minnesota police over the weekend, with the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office releasing a statement about the charges that Little will be facing. According to the reports the man is being charged in a federal criminal complaint with arson after being accused of lighting a fire in the Masjid Omar Islamic Center bathroom on April 23. The following day he started a fire at the Masjid Al Rahma Mosque.

According to an affidavit, Little is also responsible for having vandalized the office of a U.S. representative. In the affidavit, it is mentioned that Little had painted the number “500” on the door of the office in question. The meaning of this number has not yet been discovered. While the affidavit was redacted and the name of the official was not mentioned, Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-Minn.) office released a statement in which she disclosed that it was her office that had been vandalized. Omar, a Muslim Somali-American further pointed out that Little had also vandalized a police vehicle used by a Somali officer.

In the statement, she noted that there has been growing aggression against several religious minorities, including the Muslim community, both in her state and globally. She further claimed that these attacks are an attempt to keep people divided.

According to the Washington Post, Little’s first court appearance has been scheduled for Monday.
