(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Keith Olbermann is pushing for the dissolution of the Supreme Court. On Monday he specifically attacked the Democratic-appointed justices in the court following a unanimous ruling in which former President Donald Trump was allowed to participate in the presidential primary ballot despite having previously been blocked by the state from doing so on the grounds of the 14th Amendment.
In his statement, Obermann argued that Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson, the three Democratic Justices, had been part of the Supreme Court’s betrayal of democracy. He further pointed out that the Justices had shown that they lacked reading comprehension.
On Monday the Supreme Court had issued a unanimous ruling stating that Colorado state did not have the right to disqualify Trump from the ballot under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, also known as the insurrection ban. This will give Trump a slight legal victory ahead of the Super Tuesday primary election, as he is getting closer to winning the GOP nomination in the 2024 race.
Across the country, several advocacy groups and voters have filed challenges to the ballot of eligibility claiming that Trump should not be allowed to participate because of his role on Jan. 6, 2021.
However, the Supreme Court disagreed despite the claims that these actions meant that Trump should be disqualified. The amendment in question was created after the Civil War to block all officers who fought for the Confederacy from joining the federal government again.
