(PartiallyPolitics.com) – NBC News is reportedly looking to fire former Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel as a political commentator only days after she was hired by the network. The decision was made after only one appearance on the network after many NBC News employees and stars, including Chuck Todd, “Morning Joe” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and wife Mika Brzezinski, and Rachel Maddow opposed her hiring.

There have not yet been any official announcements relating to the status of McDaniel, however, Dylan Byers, a senior correspondent and founding partner of Puck News noted in an update on X, that the network intending to drop her from being an NBC/MSNBC talent due to the “on-air” comments against her.

Byers pointed out that there are currently no announcements that have been made and that McDaniel is going to be looking for legal representation while the Execs are looking over the details of the case.

Neither McDaniel nor NBC News have yet made any comments regarding this case. However, the announcement of her hiring had resulted in many people in the two networks protesting, especially as in the past McDaniel had criticized the networks. There are also many people who have pointed out that McDaniel was very connected to former President Donald Trump and had been involved in Trump’s efforts to challenge the 2020 presidential election results.

MSNBC’s highest-rated star, Maddow during her Monday night show on MSNBC, stated that McDaniel’s hiring was “inexplicable.” She also pointed out that McDaniel had previously often attacked the network’s journalists as well as the network itself.
