(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Former New Jersey Governor and Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie slammed former President Donald Trump for not wanting to split up the aid being sent to Ukraine and Israel. He further argued that the former President wanted to “coddle” Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Christie argued that Trump’s worldview was “bad.” He further claimed that the reason he wanted to separate Israel and Ukraine was simply because he was attempting to “coddle Putin. He added that this was what he had done throughout his time in the White House and what he was going to continue doing moving forward.
Christie further stated that the reason why the aid has been included in one deal is because there is a connection between the struggles in Israel and Ukraine. He added that the reason why the aid in President Biden’s request is connected is because of the connection between the two conflicts. He added that there was no doubt that there was a collaboration between North Korea, China, Iran, and Russia and that they were all cooperating in order to bring more violence to the world order.
Christie called for the U.S. to provide support to both Ukraine and Israel. Some Republicans in the House have opposed the $105 billion aid request put forward by Biden. While GOP members have expressed support for providing funding to Israel they are not as interested in assisting Ukraine in its ongoing conflict with Russia. However, Christie pointed out that it was necessary for the country to continue providing aid to defend Ukraine.
