(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Monday, former President Trump once again attacked Fox News by stating that it was the “DeSanctimonious Network.” His criticisms relate to the networks’ coverage of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) who is widely considered to be the biggest challenger that Trump will need to face in order to win the 2024 GOP nomination.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump argued that Fox News was deliberately trying to push DeSantis to the forefront, and even went as far as to state that regardless of what Fox News did, DeSantis would never be able to win as he did have the “goods.” This is not the first time that the former President has attacked the network which used to support him during his 2016 term in the White House.

Following his third presidential campaign, Trump has become more aggressive in his handling of the news network. In his recent attack on Fox News, he criticized the network for letting top host Tucker Carlson leave the network and for settling the defamation case brought forth by Dominion Voting Systems. Trump had long maintained that Fox News should support his claims of a stolen election in the court case against Dominion. Instead, the outlet chose to settle for $787 million.

Trump proceeded to once again reiterate that had it not been for him, DeSantis would have never been able to win the gubernatorial election in 2018 had it not been for Trump’s endorsement. This is a claim that Trump has repeatedly made about DeSantis, who he notes would not have a political career if not for him.
