(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Donald Trump Jr. in a recent interview with the N.Y. Post argued that his father, former President Donald Trump, needed to choose a running mate that can withstand a high level of attacks and will be able to fight back.

Trump Jr. pointed out that he wanted to see a “fighter” in that position because he knew what the opposition was going to be throwing “at us.”

In 2016 during the presidential campaign run, Trump had tried to find a running mate that would balance things out, which is what Mike Pence had done. However, Trump Jr. is advocating that a tougher approach is necessary, especially considering how the swamp has turned “vicious.” He pointed out that the most important thing would be to choose a running mate who is able to endure all of these challenges, such as biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, or Sen. J.D. Vance.

During the first Trump administration, Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner had both had senior White House positions during her father’s administration. However, Trump Jr. has stated that he and his fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle would not be focusing on their footsteps to be a version of that in the White House.

However, he also hinted that he would potentially consider having an active role in a potential Trump administration. He also stated that he wanted to oversee the presidential transition in the upcoming election while his fiancée has been focusing on fundraising.
