(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Before addressing a rally in Rome, Georgia, on Saturday, former President Donald Trump had a private meeting with the relatives of Laken Riley. During his speech, he shared his encounter with the audience, highlighting the profound impressions her family left on him.

“Laken’s mother and her family shared with me backstage how extraordinary she was,” Trump recounted to those gathered. “They described her as the epitome of excellence, always surpassing expectations. She was not only top of her class but also destined to be an exceptional nurse, recognized as the best among her peers. Her family told me she was a beacon of light, illuminating every space she entered.”

Trump expressed how central Riley was to her family’s life, emphasizing her importance to her parents, sister, and extended family.

Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student from Georgia, tragically lost her life on February 22, reportedly at the hands of an undocumented immigrant from Venezuela during her morning run.

Trump placed the responsibility for Riley’s untimely death on President Biden, criticizing the current administration’s immigration policies. He claimed that Biden’s policies effectively offer a shield against deportation for undocumented immigrants, alleging that the perpetrator was released into the U.S. because of these policies, directly implicating Biden in the tragedy.

Furthermore, Trump acknowledged the honor of having Riley’s family and friends present at the rally, commending their strength. He extended his condolences, affirming that the sorrow felt by Riley’s loved ones resonates with countless Americans and people around the globe, sharing in their profound loss and offering his heartfelt thanks for their presence.
