(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Monday, former president Donald Trump commented on the Supreme Court’s unanimous decision to reject the Colorado ballot decision that would have barred him from participating in the state’s primary election as a result of 14th Amendment eligibility claims. In Colorado, it was determined that Trump’s involvement on Jan. 6, 2021, during the Capitol attack was sufficient reason to have him disqualified.
Trump in his post on his social media platform, Truth Social argued that this was a “BIG WIN FOR AMERICA!!!”
The Supreme Court announced the 9-0 ruling earlier that day. On Monday afternoon during an appearance in Mar-A-Lago Trump praised the decision stating that it was “well crafted” and that it was an important decision in the case.
Trump claimed that this decision was going to work towards uniting the country which is needed at this stage. This latest decision comes after the Colorado Supreme Court had determined in a 4-3 ruling in December that Trump needed to be taken off the state’s primary ballot. This latest decision was a success for the Trump campaign.
The decision comes ahead of Super Tuesday where over a dozen states are going to be holding primary elections within a single day. The decision by the Supreme Court came at the best time for Trump, who is the likely Republican presidential candidate, especially considering how it had overturned the ruling in Colorado while also blocking similar efforts in other states. This is despite the claims made in the state against Trump by those who had brought the case forward.
