(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Friday, former President Donald Trump went viral as a new video of him emerged in which he promised to terminate the Affordable Care Act (ACA). This was after he changed his position on ACA last month.
Trump, who is the 2024 presumptive Republican presidential nominee, is likely to face President Joe Biden in a rematch of the 2020 election. Both candidates are currently presumed to be their respective party’s nominees as they have won the necessary delegates.
The former President has repeatedly spoken up against ACA, also known as “ObamaCare,” and has vowed that he would repeal it. This is something he had also vowed during his 2016 presidential bid but had failed to kill the program after he took the White House. His failure was the result of Republicans also blocking the move in the Senate.
Trump posted a Truth Social post in late March in which it seemed that he had changed his stance on ACA, and had promised to keep the program and better it after his potential return to the White House.
In his then post he had argued that it was misinformation from the Biden campaign that he was looking to terminate ACA. He continued by saying that the reasons he was running for office were because he wanted to stop inflation, strengthen the U.S. border and military, and improve ACA by making it both better and less expensive.
He continued by saying that simply he wanted to make ACA significantly better for less money.
