(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Sunday, Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) stated that the Biden administration’s new policies were going to bring them closer to the “center” as he had previously requested that they do, but that these policies were coming too late in the Biden administration.
Cueller had earlier in the year defended Biden’s immigration policies, claiming that the new restrictions that the Biden administration had announced on who would be eligible to apply for asylum were reasonable.
In his interview with Fox’s Shannon Bream on “Fox News Sunday,” Bream asked Cueller to what extent the Biden administration was to blame for the immigration issue, pointing out that according to a recent Fox News poll, 61 percent of respondents had disapproved of President Biden’s handling of the immigration issue.
In response, Cueller noted that the majority of Americans were “frustrated” with the immigration issue because of all of the images of people coming into the country and not leaving it. However, he added the laws have not changed under Biden or under President Obama, but he used Title 8, which is the current law, in order to expel those immigrants who needed to be sent back and he even had images of airplanes showing him doing so.
Now, all of the images feature people coming into the country and no images of people being sent back which is what has led to the increase in the public’s frustration.
