(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Former President Donald Trump’s endorsements have always had a significant impact on the primary election. In South Carolina, his endorsement of embattled Rep. Nancy Mace propelled her to a 57 percent victory in the 1st District primary election on Tuesday.

However, while a lot of media attention was placed on Mace’s win there was much less attention placed on the South Carolina 3rd District primary race where Black pastor Mark Burns managed to win in a seven-candidate race with 33 percent of the vote. The election is now heading to a runoff election on June 25, where he will be facing retired Air National Guard Lt. Col. Sheri Biggs who won 28.8 percent of support in the first round.

Harvest Praise and Worship Center of Easley founder Burns had in 2016 made national news after he delivered at the Republican National Convention a speech entitled “All Lives Matter.” Since then he had also delivered a benediction during the convention where the delegates held a gratitude prayer for Trump and prayed that the Republicans would win in the upcoming election.

Time Magazine previously referred to Burns as Trump’s Top Pastor. Trump had endorsed Burns on the first day that he filed for the election. He praised Burns during his endorsement stating that he would help him secure the U.S. border, put an end to illegal immigration, and protect the United States’ Second Amendment.

Burns also has used the endorsement of the former President throughout his campaign and on his website.
