(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Tuesday, Judge Aileen Cannon who is handling former President Donald Trump’s classified documents case held a closed-door meeting with the co-defendants’ lawyers to discuss highly classified material that had been recovered from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.

The meeting was held in a secure room in a federal courthouse in Fort Pierce, Florida. The meeting lasted a bit over two hours and included the lawyers of Carlos De Oliveira and Walt Nauta, the two co-defendants in the classified documents case who have been accused of having moved boxes at Trump’s request in order to hide them from investigators. None of the defendants were allowed to attend in person, because of the highly classified nature of the materials discussed.

The secure room was also used for a 55-minute with the case’s prosecutors.

Trump pleaded not guilty to all charges relating to his alleged mishandling of classified documents and his obstruction of the federal attempts to recover the documents from his Mar-a-Lago residence. The former President is likely believed to be his party’s presidential nominee in 2024, and he has repeatedly claimed that all of the charges against him are politically motivated and are part of a witch hunt in an attempt to block him from winning the 2024 presidential election.

De Oliveira and Nauta have also pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.

Following the hearings, Cannon filed a brief note in the court record that did not include any information about the nature of the discussions. Trump and his lawyers attended a separate meeting in the secure room along with the prosecutors on Monday.
