(PartiallyPolitics.com) – President Biden’s 2024 presidential campaign has blasted former President Donald Trump following his recent comments about hoping that the economy would crash within the next 12 months.
On Tuesday, reelection campaign manager Julie Chávez Rodríguez argued that Trump did not care at all about the American people, which is exactly what he was saying when he stated that he hoped the U.S. economy would crash. She added that Trump was currently in “pursuit of power and retribution” and that he was hoping that millions of people in the country were going to be left without a job and wondering about how they would be able to afford their most “basic needs.”
In an interview with host Lou Dobbs, Trump argued that the economy was in a “fragile” state currently and that he was hopeful that the crash was going to happen within the next 12 months. He added that this was because the one thing he would not want would be to be like former President Herbert Hoover who had come into office when the economy seemed stable only for the Great Depression to hit a few months later. Hoover had only been in office for a few months at the time of the 1929 stock market crash.
In her statement, Chávez Rodríguez argued that Biden has managed to fix the economic crisis left by former President Trump, and has created more than 14 million jobs while lowering costs for American families. She added that while Biden woke up each day working for the American people, Trump’s only concern was himself.
Trump’s remarks have also been blasted by other Biden aides who have argued that they showed Trump’s true colors.
