(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Tuesday, the House Democrats’ campaign released a new ad in which they claim that a GOP candidate running for the seat that was previously held by former Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) was “handpicked” by MAGA Republicans.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) alleges in the ad that Mazi Pilip, who has received the Republican Jewish Coalition’s endorsement, is going to be joining “MAGA Republicans” and pushing forward an agenda that would hurt Queens and Nassau County. As they point out, the agenda pushed is going to include cuts to Social Security.

Ellie Dougherty, a spokesperson for DCCC noted in a release on the ad that Pilip had been intentionally selected because they could ensure that she was going to push forward their “dangerous agenda.” She added that the people of Nassau County and Queens were to have a representative who was going to ensure that they came first. However, Pilip has clearly indicated that her loyalty lies with the MAGA branch of her party even if that loyalty comes at the expense of the community she is representing.

The ad release points out that the ad is going to be aired on cable and broadcast in New York City starting on Tuesday. The ad is the “first paid media investment” that the DCC had made for February’s special election.

On Dec. 1, the House voted to expel Santos, ending his short time in Congress. He is the sixth lawmaker to have ever been ousted from the lower chamber.
