(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis blasted former President Donald Trump over his recent endorsement from Mark Fisher, a Black Lives Matter (BLM) activist.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the 2024 Republican presidential candidate wrote that Trump was celebrating having received praise from BLM. He added that this circumstance made “perfect sense.” This was in response to a post from Trump, who is currently leading the 2024 GOP primary race, where he argued that he had been honored to receive the support of both Fisher and his group. In the post, Trump also argued that he had done more for Black people in the country than any other president before him.

BLM in Rhode Island senior director, Mark Fisher, gave Trump his endorsement on Tuesday stating that all other candidates sucked. He then pointed out that he personally likes Trump, and that he believes the person who is currently in the White House was a big disappointment.

DeSantis proceeded to post on X regarding Trump’s remarks, arguing that as governor he had to take action during the 2020 BLM movement and that he had called the National Guard. He added that while BLM was destroying cities and attacking police officers across the United States, Trump had not done anything apart from sit in the White House and tweet.

DeSantis noted in the post that in Florida they had done things differently and that he had not just been sitting there tweeting. DeSantis also blasted Trump over his response to the protests that broke out after the murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer in 2020.
