(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Sunday, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) blasted Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s recent statement where she praised the 21-year-old Air National Guardsman who was arrested for leaking classified military documents last week.
During an interview on ABC’s “This Week” Graham stated that even those who were members of the military intelligence community that completely disagreed with American military policy should know better than to leak classified documents, and that if they do leak classified information they are going to end up in jail.
On Thursday, hours after the arrest of Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira, Greene tweeted out that he was “white, male, Christian, and antiwar” which is what made him an enemy to the Biden administration. She added that Teixeira has revealed the truth about Ukraine’s forces and more.
Graham however said that Greene’s tweet is “one of the most irresponsible statements she could make.”
U.S. officials have already disclosed that some of the leaked documents have been altered and changed. Still, the documents include information about NATO intelligence, and the war in Ukraine, including approximate death tolls, munition information, and the training of Ukrainian troops. Some Republicans have used these documents to claim that the U.S. should stop supporting Ukraine in the conflict, or reduce the amount of aid provided.
Graham on the other hand has criticized those who make such claims, stating that it would “destroy America’s ability to defend itself.” Graham is a vocal supporter of providing aid to Ukraine in their war against Russia.
