(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Sunday, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) pledged that he would not spoil the upcoming presidential election, but claimed that he was still thinking about a possible last-minute run for the White House.

Manchin shared during an interview on “Fox News Sunday” with Shannon Bream that he had never before been a spoiler and that he would not become one in any election.

He added that if he is involved in the election, he is going to “win.” As he stated he would never just join an election to be a spoiler just to throw the election. However, despite these comments, he did not completely dismiss the possibility of launching a last-minute campaign for the U.S. presidency. Still, he said that before making such a decision he was going to be looking at where the parties were going to be by Super Tuesday.

He later added that Super Tuesday was going to make it clear whether or not there would be any third-party attempt that would gain traction. He said that at that point he would see where the election was, but that as of right now both parties were having a hard time with the candidates.

Manchin in his statement noted that it was after Super Tuesday that people should check what movement there is on the ground, as he pointed out there was a lot that could change within the next two months.

Manchin along with his daughter have now launched Americans together, and he started a tour to gauge whether Americans were interested in an additional middle-of-the-road perspective.
