(PartiallyPolitics.com) – In a new memo obtained by Politico Playbook, Conservative entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign is expecting that the presidential candidate is going to be polling in either second or third place by the end of 2023 in the 2024 GOP primary.
2024 CEO Ben Yoho in the memo predicted that Republican voters would start supporting Ramaswamy as the alternative to both former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who has not yet joined the 2024 presidential race but is widely expected to join the race within the next few months.
In the memo, Yoho writes that over the summer DeSantis and Trump would continue to attack each other and that by the fall GOP voters will be looking at an alternative to those two. A candidate who “is an outsider and embraces the Trump/America First agenda,” Yoho said in the memo. Yoho further points out that the businessman is currently polling comparably or even at times ahead of many other well-established national political figures.
However, these claims don’t align with RealClearPolitics’s average of Ramaswamy across numerous polls, where he is seen in sixth place out of 11 potential GOP presidential candidates. His average polling is at 1.5 percent, placing him behind Trump, DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C).
Yoho also argued that Ramaswamy, Trump, and DeSantis are the only three candidates “with the profile, message, and resources to be competitive in the early states.” This was a clear criticism aimed at both Haley and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R), who officially launched their presidential campaigns.
