(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Friday, former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to blast New York Attorney General Letitia James and accuse her of having been closely collaborating with the Biden administration’s Justice Department in an attempt to hurt President Biden’s rivals in the 2024 presidential election.
James is the one who brought forward the $250 million civil lawsuit against Trump, the Trump Organization, and his two adult sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, claiming that for years they have been inflating the value of their assets in order to receive more beneficial terms for loans and other business deals. In the lawsuit, it is alleged that this practice led to them defrauding insurers and lenders. However, Trump has maintained that he has done no wrongdoing.
James during her campaign in 2018 to become the attorney general had promised that if elected she would pursue criminal action against the President. Trump’s recent post on Truth Social was the result of an appeal of a gag order that Judge Arthur Engoron who is handling the case had previously placed on him.
Trump argued in his post that James was a “lunatic” and that the case against him was persecution. The post was also paired with a video showing many clips of James stating that she intended to sue Trump. She had also previously criticized him and argued that he was an “illegitimate president.” Trump pointed out that there were lawyers who had argued that what was happening should not be allowed, and he proceeded to allege that James’ actions were part of her work with the Justice Department in an attempt to interfere with the presidential election by harming the chief Political Opponent that Biden is facing.
