(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social on Sunday to state that “They” wanted to have him arrested.

As he wrote “they”, he was trying to say that many were trying to interfere with the 2024 presidential election, which is why President Joe Biden appeared to be willing to have his primary opponent arrested. He proceeded to note that he was the frontrunner in the GOP primary presidential race and that he was leading by “a very large number.”

Trump’s post also included a video in which he referred to similar things during a Saturday speech before the Faith and Freedom Coalition meeting. In the video, he ends his remarks by stating that they would not allow this to happen. This was a reference to his recent indictment on 37 counts in connection to his alleged mishandling of classified documents. Special counsel Jack Smith has accused Trump in the federal case of refusing to return the classified documents following the requests of the National Archives after he left the White House in January 2021.

The former President has maintained that he had every right to keep the documents after leaving office, and that prior to taking them out of the White House all of the documents had been declassified under the Presidential Records Act. However, Trump has frequently made conflicting statements over whether or not he had or had not declassified the documents.

Trump has made other allegations in the past, including his unfounded claims of a “stolen election” during the 2020 presidential cycle, when he had lost to Democrat Joe Biden. However, his claims about widespread voter fraud were found to be incorrect.
