(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Wednesday, President Biden’s reelection campaign released its first ad for the 2024 presidential election cycle. The ad is predominantly pushing Biden’s case in key swing states.

The 90-second ad heavily places its focus on American freedom and it was released only one day after Biden announced officially that he was joining the 2024 presidential race. Many of the themes covered in Biden’s campaign launch video were also addressed during the ad.

The ad included footage from the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection, and focused on many key issues including abortion, gun violence, and the Democrats as the protectors of Democracy. The ad starts off by stating that Biden “has made defending our basic freedoms the cause of his presidency,” this includes reproductive freedom, freedom to make their own health care decisions, freedom to safeguard children from gun violence, freedom to vote, and the freedom to build a “good life.”

While the Republicans are not mentioned by name in the ad, it is noted that there is “an extreme movement that seeks to overturn elections, ban books, and eliminate a woman’s right to choose.” The ad is meant to air across national cable channels in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, all of which are key battleground states that are likely going to affect who is going to win the 2024 presidential election. All six of these states were won by Biden in 2020.

The campaign is also set to release a second ad next week.
