(PartiallyPolitics.com) – VP Kamala Harris could prove to be the most controversial vice president in modern history in the 2024 presidential race, as Republicans are focusing on her unpopularity and President Biden’s old age to bring voters to their side.

Throughout her time in office, Harris has not seen her approval rating go over the low 40s since her first year in office. Similarly, President Biden’s latest approval polls also place him in the low 40s. Despite her unpopularity, even within the Democratic circles though, Harris’ vice presidency could prove to be fundamental in determining what the outcome of the 2024 presidential election will be.

Biden and Harris will have a lot of hurdles to climb in order to win their re-election bid. Between Biden’s age, he will be 82 when he starts his second term and Harris’ unpopularity it will be hard for voters to be confident in the pair. Harris has repetitively dismissed her unpopularity as “political chatter.” However, the concerns about Biden’s age as they head into the 2024 presidential election cannot be as easily dismissed. Because of Biden’s old age, the public is also considering what will happen if Biden has to step down and his vice president is made to take over.

Harris was an unpopular choice for the presidency since her White House run in 2019. At the time, then-Hawaii’s Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, now an independent, had claimed that Harris was “clearly unqualified” to be the president, claiming that the media had been attempting to cover for her so that the people would not become aware of the truth.
