(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Prior to boarding Marine One for a three-day trip to California President Biden told reporters that he did not care about who he was going to be facing in the Republican presidential election.

Reporters had asked Biden before the campaign trip who he would want to see win the GOP primary election. In response, Biden laughed off the question dismissing the assertion and arguing that he did not care about who would win.

While Biden had argued that he did not have a preference for a Republican opponent he has spent the last months heavily campaigning using the argument that democracy is under threat. This is a specific campaign message that he uses against the MAGA movement and former President Donald Trump who the Democrats have been viewing as “extreme.”

Ammar Moussa, Biden’s campaign spokesman had argued that President Biden was aware of everything that was at stake for the American people in the upcoming election and that the stakes could not be higher. He added that Trump was the complete opposite of everything that President Biden stood for and had accomplished during his time in the White House. He added that Biden’s campaign priority over the next few months was going to be making sure that the voters understood the stark difference between their two options.

Currently, Biden is performing better in the head-to-head general election polls against former President Donald Trump than against former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley. The polls have found that while he is almost tied with Trump, Haley would be defeating Biden in the double digits.
