(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Jared Kushner, who’s not just former President Trump’s son-in-law but also was a key advisor, has shared that Senator Chuck Schumer from New York, a Democrat, apparently told pals of Kushner’s mom that he was headed for the slammer. This was all because of his role in the 2016 presidential race and supposed connections with Russia.

Chatting on the Lex Fridman Podcast, Kushner recounted how he tried to reassure his mom, advising her to ignore the rumors. He recalled, “She’d ring me up, worried because her friends ran into Schumer, and he’s there claiming I’m prison-bound.”

Kushner, who’s hitched to Trump’s daughter Ivanka, has consistently denied claims that he tried to set up a secret communication route between Russia and Trump’s campaign before the 2016 election showdown.

He was part of a notorious sit-down that included Donald Trump Jr., the ex-head honcho of Trump’s campaign, Paul Manafort, and a lady pitched as a Russian official with lowdown on Hillary Clinton.

Despite Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation pinpointing extensive Russian meddling in the 2016 election, it didn’t pin down any collusion by Trump’s campaign crew.

Post-election, Kushner met Sergey Kislyak, Russia’s top guy in the U.S., and Michael Flynn, set to be Trump’s national security advisor. Word is they talked about a confidential line of communication between Trump’s transition squad and Russian bigwigs. On the podcast, Kushner brushed off the initial accusations, confident they had no real substance.

He expressed his worries, “They’re out to get you, and if you slip up, even a tiny misstep, they’ll try to throw you behind bars or worse… That freaked me out.”

Kushner got tangled in probes by Senate committees digging into the Trump campaign’s alleged Russian ties.

He clocked over 20 hours giving testimony to various committees and shelled out millions from his own funds for legal defense.

Reflecting on Schumer’s comments, Kushner was struck by the power of unproven claims. “Here’s this high-profile senator spreading this, and everyone’s buying into something I know for a fact is a total bust. Watching that unfold was super tough,” he admitted.
