(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Former President Donald Trump spoke at the Faith and Freedom Coalition: Road to Majority Conference in Washington D.C., on Saturday where he discussed the state and federal criminal charges placed against him.

The former President, who is the frontrunner in the 2024 Republican primary presidential race, headlined the Christian conferences on Saturday where he stated that the two indictments against him were a “badge of honor.”

In April, Trump became the first U.S. President, either sitting or former, to be charged with a crime, after Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg filed 34 counts of falsifying business records against Trump. The indictment was the result of a years-long probe into a hush money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election. Trump has pleaded not guilty on all counts.

On June 8, Trump was also federally indicted on 37 charges, including 31 counts relating to violating the Espionage Act. The federal indictment is the result of an investigation that stems from the classified documents that Trump had held in his Mar-a-Lago home after he left office in 2021.

Trump has repeatedly stated that the cases against him were a political “witch hunt” and that the federal case especially was an attempt at “election interference.”

While speaking to the crowd he said that the indictments by the “radical left Democrats, Marxist, communists, and fascists” are a “badge of honor” and that he is “being indicted for you,” where you is a reference to his supporters.

Trump also added that he is most likely the only person in history to have had his numbers increase after being indicted. This led to the crowd erupting in chants of “USA.”
