Firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has said that if House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) wants her to be kept happy then she would be given a lot more power in the chamber if the Republicans manage to win in the upcoming midterm elections.

A New York Times Magazine profile did a profile on Greene’s rise in influence. Greene has also said that McCarthy should try out her “more aggressive” approach toward President Biden. Greene has reportedly introduced multiple impeachment articles against him.

She also said that the Speaker should know that they need to give her more power and that if she is not given that she will be unhappy. She has also said that she is not threatening the party but rather stating a simple reality.

McCarthy is hoping to become the Speaker of the House if Republicans manage to win a majority. Greene was previously taken off her committee assignment shortly after taking office. This in part has been linked to her association with several conspiracy theories and a Facebook comment that spoke about the assassination of Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

McCarthy pledged that Greene’s position would be restored and that she might even be moved up to “better committees”.

Greene told the New York Times Magazine that she is hoping to either be on Oversight or Judiciary.

She also added that she completely deserves this after the way she has been treated like garbage.
